Spring finally made it
Spring wasn’t strangled after all, just delayed. Back in mid-March the early blossom poked out and then promptly disappeared in the cold weather and winds. The tree at the top of the road which is usually a blaze of whiteness never really made it beyond a few white spots.
This morning while cycling to work everything had changed. The trees which hadn’t decided to bloom in March had merely decided to delay it until now. The streets and parks were a mass of pink, white and green. The sun was shining and later in the day actually felt hot to the skin.
I love this time of year in London. Everything feels fresh, alive and full of promise.
